the capoeirista's armada dupla, a vibrant double-legged gesture, has its roots linked to the belly '배' of slave ships and ultimately was cultivated on the sea. these ships were full of our African diaspora, taken by force by fleets and armadas. cowries '貝' were traded through sea routes and used as a traditional currency in Mozambique, Benin, Guinea and Congo, similarly to olden China.
