the extra money we earned from leaping and jumping through hoops of bureaucratic benefit systems, was well spent on our settee. typically upgraded every couple of years to take at least our home away from the poverty we existed in. slowly my family started to earn a basic living wage, and the settee transformed into a make-shift bed to sleep pon after the night shifts, long hours and underactive thyroid problems. our school catchment area, council tax and commute may not be ideal, but at least our foam-filled composite is waiting for us, spread across 12 monthly payments at 39.9% APR variable.
